This series explores the fragmentary memory of a landscape or a moment that resurfaces as an impression, a sensation or an emotion. Shattering and Enchantment brings together small-format works in which two opposing forces sit side by side: the violence of a raging sea and the calm of a landscape.
Each work acts as a reminiscence – the memory of a state rather than the description of a place. Shattering is the rupture, the turbulence of icy waters; enchantment is the suspended moment when chaos turns into beauty. This series explores how memory rarely retains events as they occurred: it keeps their emotion, their echo.
